New/s Disruptors is a project dedicated to re-framing the narrative of digital disruption in the news industry using a human-centered, community-first approach. N/D will incorporate storytelling and aims to develop valuable audience insights for the journalism industry, develop curriculum and training materials and build a deeper connection among journalism, technology and the public.

Jeanne BrooksCo-Director / News Disruptors
Jeanne Brooks designs immersive community experiences that bridge personal and digital connections. Previously the Digital Director at the Online News Association, she led the organization’s web, social and communications strategy and produced training programs for digital journalists, including spearheading conference programming and coverage for the acclaimed ONA13 event. She is founder of the Midway, an experimental learning space at the ONA annual conference, fostering innovation and connecting journalists with the latest technology.
Sabrina Hersi IssaCo-Director / News Disruptors
Sabrina Hersi Issa is the co-founder of End Famine and the CEO of Be Bold Media, a digital agency focused on global advocacy. She organizes Rights Tech, a monthly gathering for technologists and activists. Previously, she was a fellow at the Roosevelt Institute where she worked on issues related to technology, human rights and humanitarian disasters. She has worked for Afghans for Civil Society, Oxfam America, NBC and National Public Radio stations. She was named one of Forbes Magazine Top 30 under 30 for Law & Policy and her work in technology and media has been honored at the Women’s Media Center, Levo League, Women’s Information Network and the Women & Politics Institute.
